Privacy at Playdates
Playdates uses the minimum information needed to run caregiver-attended family events, maintain household RSVPs, trusted circles, attendance, safety operations and loyalty benefits.
What we collect
Account and household contact details, a broad home area, event RSVPs and party size, circle memberships and selected-circle visibility, verified attendance, private feedback, operational messages, and confidential safety reports. We do not require a home address, school, exact child birthdate or child last name.
How information is shared
Exact event details are available only to signed-in members with access. RSVP visibility is controlled per event as public-to-members, selected circles, or private. Sponsors receive aggregate outcomes only. Safety reports are restricted to authorized operations staff.
Service providers
Playdates uses Supabase for authentication and records, Vercel for hosting, Google Maps Platform for venue search and maps, and may use Twilio for consented operational SMS. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy commitments.
Your choices
You can change RSVP visibility per event, choose what contact detail to share after a mutual connection, turn operational SMS off in favour of email fallback, ask operations to correct your records, and request account deletion from the app or website. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days, subject to shared-household verification and records that must be retained for safety, fraud prevention, insurance, payment or legal obligations.
Founder action before launch: add the operating company name, privacy contact, final retention schedule, Canadian cross-border processing disclosure, and counsel-approved access/deletion language.
